Today...

I was reading some of my old blog posts from when Dean was in Law School, & thought WOW- I've really gotten boring/lazy with blogging lately!  Maybe I'm just not as "bored" as I used to be when he was in school? So I don't care about writing as much?  Or maybe my life isn't as interesting since we've moved away from all our friends... boo...!  Anyway, I need to do more "Today" posts b/c I really enjoyed reading my old ones.  They might be a little boring, but I really want to have them to read back on.  So...

Today... Saturday after Thanksgiving:
  • Woke up, snuggled w/ Rome while he drank his morning bottle (I do this every morning, & every night before bed- my 2 FAVE times of the day...*siiigh* melts my heart.)
  • Set the table for breakfast while Dad made the famous "beach house sausage, eggs, & gravy biscuits" breakfast :)
  • Went on a stroller walk on the beach all the way to the park with Em, Dad, AV, & Rome.  It took us 29 minutes! Our record!  Em held us back just a lil w/ her big belly & all...
  • Dad won the "who can find the biggest piece of sea-glass" contest... (he was the only one who found a piece).
  • Put Rome down for a nap when we got home, walked out on the beach a bit more, looked for a good fire-pit place for hot dogs & s'mores in the backyard...
  • Ate leftover turkey on homemade rolls for lunch out on the deck.
  • Saw a TON of dolphins right in front of us!  They surfed and jumped and played!  Everyone ran out to the deck to see.
  • Watched Dean "fish".  There were absolutely no fish.  He even left his poles out there, came in, ate lunch, went back out to clean up, & his bait was STILL on the hooks!
Okay it's Monday morning now & I didn't even finish this post on Saturday!  AND, I can't even remember what else we did in order to finish it now!  What a loooser/slacker!  Oh well, here are some pics em took with her phone at the park.  We had to get creative with only one swing :)
K, it's not working.  Blah.  I'll try it later. Blogging is working against me!

Lost & Found: Holly & Lovey

Welp, it's been "same 'ole, same 'ole" here at the Roggia household... a few things that have happened this week:

I made a scrumdiddly-YUM-tious dinner & had to take a picture of my creation at the end.  It took like 3 hours to make.  NOT doing that again (any time soon...).

Rome's been switching off being bbs (best buds) with Dean & me. It changes every few minutes now.

Dadda wouldn't hold him, so he became my little bud, &

we went out on the deck & had a blast taking pictures & getting out of the boring house on Sunday!

He was laughing SO much & SO hard.  I LOVE playing with him!  Lately he's been wanting "eskimo kisses".  He thinks they're hilarious!

Spin me, Mommy! Wee, wee!

I love my little guy.

Lost & Found: Lovey
Whenever we get Rome out of his crib in the mornings or after a nap, he sits down just before we pick him up and frantically looks around for something to bring with him.  Either his little blue blanket, one of his puppies, or this lovey:

He loves this lovey.  He also loves looking out the opened windows & looking at cars like this:
(notice his arm reaching out.)

Car!

He also (as mentioned many times before) loves to throw things... See clip

So anyway, yesterday me, Mom, Dean, & Dad were all cleaning the house, in preparation for our Thanksgiving company.  Mom went out on the deck to shake a rug & low and behold- a little, blue lovey lay there all wet & sad-looking on the ground... Nobody saw Rome bring it out onto the deck anytime that day, so we figured he must've thrown it out the window when noone was looking! Ah! It's okay, though- it's been found, washed, and safely placed back into his crib.

Lost & Found: Holly

Just minutes after we found the lovey, Holly went missing.  My dad just happened to be looking out his bedroom window and yells, "What's Holly doing over on the neighbor's back deck?"
What?!  When/how did she get out?! (Rome didn't throw her out of the window, too did he?)  Dean & I ran onto our deck to look at her.  Yep.  There she was!

BAHAHA! What the heck, Holly?!  My dad went & rescued her.

We still don't know how she got out, or how long she was out there... but that deck has beach access just like ours, so I imagine she had a blast running around all day, chasing seagulls and scurrying in the sand & just couldn't remember which wooden staircase was home.  They all look the same!

Here she is: FOUND... safe & sound & back inside.
Well, maybe not "safe" with a torturing 1-yr-old around...

THE END.
***
One more pic...
Rome loves destroying folded clothing (as a friend warned me he would a while ago).  He specifically likes the bottom drawer in the kitchen--
easy access to neatly folded hand towels... just asking to be thrown around and wrinkled up.
(That empty drawer must've looked like a nice seat for he & his ball, too! :)

He's crazy, & I love him.

Happy Thanksgiving EVE, everyone!

The Beach in November

Oh my gosh, today was SO much fun!  Just like the good 'ole summer days!  Dean & I hit up the beach to go boogey boarding during Rome's nap... the sun was out, it was in the 70's... we saw TONS of dolphins jumping and slapping and surfing in the waves, birds everywhere...It. Was. Perfect.

When Rome woke up, we brought him out to play in the sand.

He does this cute/funny/silly crawl whenever he's on sand!

Oooo, waves!

Oooo, shells!

What a sweetie.

I gave him a ride on the boogey board-- he concentrated so hard to stay balanced!

At one point a big wave came & scared him, so he decided to cry and crawl off.  Once he saw me dragging his ride away, tho- he chased after it.  I made him say "Please, Mamma" before I would give him another ride :)  haha!  I'm so mean.

Daddy all done surfing!

Hi, Daddy!

Hey!  How come he's not carrying me, too?

He's always so happy to be runnin around nakey!  Typical boy, I guess =)

Ooo, my new best fwend.

Shower time!

Daddy's so funny!

Rome's got quite the badonkadonk!

When we got inside, all snuggly clean and warm, Rome decided he wanted to pose on the bed and read a book!

That evening before dinner, we went to the park to ride the swings!

Rome saw a cat climb onto the jungle gym.

He thought it was so funny when it jumped off and walked away!

America's Next. TOP. Model.

By the time we got home, the sun was setting (only like 5:30!).  It was so pretty!

We knew Rome had been gowing through a little growth spurt the past few weeks, but had no idea it was THIS big of a spurt!  All of a sudden he is just so big and tall!

Here's a cute clip of Rome's funky beach crawl.  I love how you can hear him scooting across the sand!  And he inherited such a cute lil bum, bum from somebody!

This past week...

Ro-Ro's been standing up a LOT
just waitin for us to cheer for him! :)

This is a weird pic of him swatting his yellow sippy cup in front of me.  He does that a lot... shakes things whilst growling.

Crawling on Mommy... the usual...

Yarm, yarm, yarm.  I love food!

I tried SO hard to get Rome & Holly to sit still for a pic together, but he just thought it was a fun game to crawl away and have Mommy chase him.  Grrr!

We've had some really good waves from the hurricane...

Sexxxxy- ow, ow!

One of my bf's had a baby shower in TX... since I couldn't go, I skyped it up!  It was SO much fun to see my besties!

JJ showin me all the good food.  Mmmmm!

JJ feeding me some good food! mmmmm.

--------------------------------------------------------
This weekend, E/J & Schramma & Schrammpa came up to visit for Em's bday!

Yeouch!

Since Dean got injured, Rome decided to become Schrammpa's new little helper :)
"Aaaah, just dustin my hands off. What next, Schrammpa?"

Wow, big machine things...

Inside, Mom & Em made Christmas aprons.

AV played all day.  She LOVES baby dolls!

Birthday girl's dinner pick that night was Chineeeese.

Funfetti birthday cake & pb chocolate cookies for dessert!

Em got a camera for her bday & was playin w/ it all the next day--

Look how close the dolphins were to Dean!

Work hard, play hard!
(or if it's me, just play hard :)

Ahem...

Giiiiiiiiiant wave!

I wiped out. A lot.

Oooh, camera! Gotta make some cheesy poses!

WooHOO!

Texas Glamour Shot Pose.
(Yes, I was still moving. Now that's talent.)

LoverZ smooching while riding a wave in. How romantic =)

I took some pics of the Bartlett fam for their Christmas cards!

What a cute lil family :)

Such a fun weekend!

Rome's "Loves"...

In case you couldn't tell by the bathroom collage in the earlier post... Rome has decided to cling onto Dean.  ALL of the time.  It's so cute :)
Is Daddy going a little bit crazy? Haha!

Oh, & I forgot to add this to the "waves" post below...
See the rainbow?! It's not very bright, but still- pretty :)

Hurricane Ida Waves

We got a lot of rain yesterday which means...
HUGE waves today!

Check out how high the wind was blowing the mist off the waves!

I swear I can't go 2 days without posting pictures of waves... but I don't care!
I think they're SO awesome.

XOXO

It's Raining, It's POURING...

..today!
Our little Jungle Baby is going crazy!

Okay, he's like this every day... but seems like extra today for some reason.

All OVER the place.

Poor Dean... haha!

These are from the past few days... There was a huge ship thingy way out in the ocean.  It was pretty neat.
My sweet lil boy:

Rome likes to ride!  Mommy doesn't like to push so much!  Man, am I getting old or what??

Another one pokin through!

We hope the rain leaves soon.  We need to get out of the house!
Great, Rome has dumped out all the diapers and is chewing on the Motrin as I type...

The Wait is Finally Over...

Dean passed the bar!!!

(I recently removed all of our pics off our computer... this was the only one I could find of Dean lookin professional like a real-live lawyer :)

Halloween... hoo hoo!

We went to Charlotte to spend Halloween with the Schrammparents...
As always, we had a wonderful time together.

The weather was perfect- cool & crisp, the trees were gorgeous- full of color, so we walked the kiddies to one of the parks in the neighborhood.

El Azteca
(YUUUMMY Guac!)

Halloween day:

Rome was a pirate.  YAARrRrRrRr.  His costume was so cute. Ragged cut-off pants, hat (which did not stay on for more than a sec), little boots, a sword, and a mouth with only 6.5 teeth in it :) He fit the part perfectly.

It was fun to be able to go trick-or-treating again without feeling like a creep-o or totally embarassed :) I think that's one reason why having kids is so much fun- you get permission to re-live your childhood!
Rome & Amaryllis had lotsa fun strolling from house to house, taking in all of their porch/yard decos & other kids' (and parents') costumes.  AND enjoying their fave- lollipops, of course =)
But really, c'mon- 4 adults walking around the neighborhood with 2 babies who could care less?  I'd say it was more for us than them at this point!

"Halloween! (hoo, hoo!) Halloween!  (hoo, hoo!)
...We. Love. Haaall. Loow. Wee-hee-hee-heeeeeeeeeen!!!"

Fishies & Sickies

Last weekend, my dad came to visit!  It was lowsy weather, but we braved up the rain and went fishing anyway!

We My Dady and Dean caught 3 fish!  I just kept reeling in the line every single time I felt a teensy big of a tug.  Only to find my bloodworms were gone.  Boo.  I stuck to what I know best:

We've been watching Sophie for my parents.  She and Holly have become great buds.  They spend most of their days just like this:

Staring at us... probably waiting for scraps to fall.

Rome's been sick with a fever the past couple of days.  He's getting another tooth in on the bottom.  Poor guy :(  He's very snuggly though which I love!  He has also started saying Mama a lot which melts my heart.

See the bear in the pic?  He hasn't gotten attached to anything so far, but he loves a few things:  that lovey, his stuffed puppy Dean picked out for him, and a little blue-knit blanket from Schramma.  When he wakes up in the morning or from naps, he hurries & snatches one of these before we pick him up from his crib!  I love that little guy to pieces.
